In a year spent working at Harrods, I ‘redesigned’ the homepage of the .com site many times. Politically, the homepage is a battleground for many business units, all vying for their share of the real estate. As part of the Direct team, we were tasked with helping harrods.com achieve sales targets through optimisation of the ecommerce design, user journeys and product details.
Although heavily limited by a prehistoric Microsoft ecommerce platform, we worked on delivering a user experience that was in line with expectations of the Harrods brand. I also looked after the in-house photographic studio and art directed many shoots as well as helping to establish range guidelines and put together shooting styleguides.
